Căluşarilor dance is one of the most spectacular, dramatic and symbolic folk in Romania. According to tradition, Căluşarii performs a magic ritual that evolves around fruit hazelnut called "gag". In their dance magic is a time when one of the performers is knocked to the ground with the flag of hazel. Those who play are initiated by a secret ritual, well kept, to be worthy of playing this dance.
